THE CARNIVAL
One of the most popular cultural activities in the area is the Carnival, organized annually on Sunday of the Tyrrhenian.
Mascarades and parallel events are held annualy, for children and adults, with the valuable participation of residents, visitors and cultural associations and organizations.
THE ANNUAL SARDINE FESTIVAL
The Sardine Festival, which takes place annually, around the 26th of July, features a variety of live music, traditional dances and free seafood!
It is an old custom of local fishermen in order to have good catches and full nets, all season.
SAINT JOHN'S DAY
Saint John’s Day takes place at the 29th of August, commemorating the settlement of Asia Minor refugees in the village of Ano Stavros.
MORE EVENTS
During the summer, theatrical and musical performances are organized with the valuable participation of local troupes and tours.
Specifically, on the occasion of the Prophet Elias festival on the 20th of July, traditional feasts are organized, offering live music and food.
THE SOUGLIANI TRAIL RACE
Last but not least, the Stavros Nature Lovers Organization organizes annually the Sougliani Trail 24.5km – Sougliani Path 12km – Sougliani Kids 1km race, with the event reaching its 6th consecutive year, at the 26th of April, 2020, with over 300 athletes from all over Greece!
